Day
1
ARRIVAL
Meet on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to a Hotel in Kampala or spend a night in Entebbe.
Day 2:
After breakfast and final briefing on your safari you will depart for your gorilla safari stopping in Mbarara for Lunch as you head to the Southern part Uganda with an overnight in Kisoro.
Day 3:
Gorilla tracking in Nkuringo or simply take a nature walk.
Day 4:
The journey north goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible. Over night at Parc National Rwanda at the Kinigi Guest House or at the Mountain Gorillas Nest.
Day 5:
Go gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcanoes. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a magical experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for a late lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Over night at: Parc National Rwanda, Kinigi Guest House, Mountain Gorillas Nest.
Day 6:
Either go gorilla tracking again in Parc National des Volcans or visit the golden monkeys or , visit Ross Carr's orphanage , or trek to Dian Fossey's grave and overnight at the Kinigi Guest House, Mountain Gorillas Nest.
Day 7:
After breakfast drive to Bwindi through the Switzerland of Africa, with the road winding through many hills and valleys, with distant views of the volcanoes and lakes. Over night at :The Gorilla Forest Camp, Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge, Buhoma Homestead, Bwindi View Guest House for cheaper accommodation.
Day 8:
Either go gorilla tracking again, or take a nature walk in the forested hills .You can also take a community walk. Tracking in Bwindi requires stamina and can often take most of the day before you return for your dinner and overnight at your respective accommodation.
Day 9:
Leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Either drive via Ishasha, home of the tree climbing lion, roads permitting, or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses. Time permitting, go for an evening game drive Over night at: Mweya Safari Lodge, Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge, Bwindi View Guest House for cheaper accommodation or Jacana.
Day 10:
Go for an early morning game drive to seek out wildlife, rest during the heat of the day and then go on an evening game drive. You are expected to see Elephants,Buffalos,Lions etc which are seen depending on the season, the Kasenyi plains are good for lion and the Mweya peninsula for a variety of animals. Over night at either the Mweya Safari Lodge or the Jacana Safari Lodge.
Day 11:
After your early morning break you will take an excursion to Kyambura gorge nearby to track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees, one of man's closest relations. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing is unpredictable but the walk is enchanting.In the afternoon take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where the wildlife and a vast array of birds come to drink. Over night at: Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge.
Day 12:
After your breakfast, begin your journey to Kampala stopping at the Equator for a snack,snaps and maybe shopping if time permits before you are dropped at the Airport to catch your flight back home.
Catch
your flight back home. An overnight in Entebbe is optional.
